US-WAL-001: Create and Manage Accounts¶

As a Self-Hosting Tinkerer, I want to create financial accounts (checking, savings, cash, credit card), so that I can track balances across all my money sources.

Acceptance Criteria:

• Create accounts with name, type, and currency
• View account balances on a dashboard
• Support multiple currencies per account

US-WAL-002: Record Transactions¶

As a Mindful Planner, I want to log income and expenses with amounts, categories, and dates, so that I can see where my money goes.

Acceptance Criteria:

• Create transactions of type INCOME, EXPENSE, or TRANSFER
• Assign a category and optional description to each transaction
• Account balance updates automatically after each transaction

US-WAL-003: Categorize Transactions Hierarchically¶

As a Self-Hosting Tinkerer, I want to organize transaction categories in a hierarchy (e.g., Food > Groceries, Food > Dining Out), so that I can analyze spending at different levels of detail.

Acceptance Criteria:

• Create categories with optional parent categories
• View spending by top-level or sub-category
• Assign any category (leaf or parent) to a transaction

US-WAL-004: Set and Track Budgets¶

As a Household Coordinator, I want to set monthly budgets per category, so that my family stays within spending limits.

Acceptance Criteria:

• Create monthly budgets with a target amount per category
• View budget progress (spent vs. target) for the current month
• Receive a notification when spending reaches 80% of the budget

US-WAL-005: Track Savings Goals¶

As a Mindful Planner, I want to create savings goals with target amounts and deadlines, so that I can track progress toward financial objectives.

Acceptance Criteria:

• Create goals with a name, target amount, and optional deadline
• Allocate funds toward a goal and track the current balance
• Mark goals as completed when the target is reached

US-WAL-006: Multi-Currency Support¶

As a Self-Hosting Tinkerer, I want to manage accounts and transactions in different currencies, so that I can track finances across countries without manual conversion.

Acceptance Criteria:

• Create accounts in any supported currency
• Record transactions in the account's currency
• Validate that operations don't mix incompatible currencies

US-WAL-007: Transfer Between Accounts¶

As a Household Coordinator, I want to transfer money between accounts, so that I can move funds to savings or credit card payments.

Acceptance Criteria:

• Create a TRANSFER transaction between two accounts
• Source account balance decreases and target account balance increases
• Transfer appears in both accounts' transaction history

US-WAL-008: View Spending Reports¶

As a Mindful Planner, I want to view monthly spending reports by category, so that I can identify patterns and make informed financial decisions.

Acceptance Criteria:

• View spending breakdown by category for a selected month
• Compare spending across months to spot trends
• Filter reports by account or category
